Dr. Rheeda Walker is an award-winning professor of psychology at the University of Houston and author of the best-seller, The Unapologetic Guide to Black Mental Health. She is a behavioral science researcher and licensed clinical psychologist who has published more than sixty scientific papers on suicide risk, psychological resilience, and African American adult mental health from a culturally-informed perspective. Dr. Walker is also a fellow in the American Psychological Association having made outstanding contributions to the psychological study of race, culture, and ethnicity.

Dr. Walker’s expertise has been cited in countless media outlets including The Washington Post, NPR, Los Angeles Times, the Houston Chronicle, and Ebony magazine. She has also been a guest expert on Good Morning America, The Breakfast Club, and Red Table Talk among others.
